Communication is key: operators must keep up communication amongst themselves, their supervisors, and any other members of the crew around them.

Follow load limits: operators should be aware of the load limits for both the size and weight of the equipment. Loads must be secured before moving.

Wear a seatbelt: seat belts are as important in machines as they are in passenger vehicles. Sett belts can keep operators safe in the event of an accident. Employers are required, per OSHA, to provide appropriate seat belts in heavy equipment per regulations for proactive worker gear.
