A Brief Look at Socket Welding

The socket welding (or fusion joining) process is used to connect a 20-110 mm diameter suitable tube. It is accomplished by heating the pipe’s external surface and the fitting’s internal surface until the material is fused, and then inserting into the other while the material remains hot. Pipes and welding fittings can be made of PE, PP, PB or PVDF, but the same material can be used by both.

For socket welding, useful hydraulic equipment is available from a diameter of 16 to 110 mm, even with diameters up to 160 in the norm. The welding equipment is connected to the prefixed temperature controlled electrical current and thermostat.
